New gaming and general use PC £2k budget

Hi, would be grateful for advice on spec for a long over due PC upgrade.
Looking for something that is 1440p capable and flexible for upgrades in future. Need a largish HDD to store photos and music. Want it to run pretty quiet (my current PC sounds like hairdryer). Was looking at the 4000d Airflow but reviews seem to criticise included fans, so went for 4000x.
Budget about £2k.

Some minor tweaks I would recommend. Is it a 120hz+ monitor you have?

Thanks Scott, that's really helpful.
My monitor also needs an upgrade, but probably looking at something like 170hz.

Comparing the various versions on the Corsair 4000 case. The ICUE 4000X has 3 front fans and 1 rear fan included. The CORSAIR 4000D RGB AIRFLOW comes with 3 front fans but no rear fan. The 4000d has one on front and one at the back. I read the Airflow case may be better for temperatures / fan noise etc? would i need to add an additional fan as having the 3 intake at the front and one exhaust on the back seems a good idea?

You also suggest increasing the power supply to 1000W, is that for futureproofing if i replace the graphics card in future?

PC specialist have been known to add rear exhaust fans to builds as a matter of course even if not specified as standard on the case, and don't forget you'll have 2 exhaust fans in the roof from the cooler

As above, and you won't go wrong with any of those cases, so just go with your preference. The only consideration to have is with regards to future aspirations. The 4000 series are on the smaller side so there can sometimes be limitations with GPU length, this typically only comes into play with a front mounted cooler, so being on the roof should be fine.

In your shoes I would look to one of the cases with the 3 fan intake, as the AIO will be your exhaust.

1000w is to cover any future considerations. The last thing you want to do is change your PSU, it's a bit of a pain. Spending a little more now, to cover having to spend in the future (along with the hassle) is well worth it. You get a more efficient system too, and it will output approx 40% power before even using the cooling fan. They're great bits of kit.
