New gaming PC Spec for GF

Evening all,

Have used PCS for all of my builds so far and looking to get this spec reviewed for the girlfriend to help her out.

Gaming is mostly games such as FFXIV, Lost Ark, League of Legends etc.
Looking at getting a 1440p 144mhz monitor to go with it separately.

Budget is around the 1500 -1800 ideally but there is wiggle room if we can optimise the build for a good balance.

Idea is to make this last 3-5 years at least. Spec below and as always appreciate any feedback anyone could give?

I know I'm right on your upper limit mate but the 3060Ti is more suited than the 3060 at 1440p. The 3060Ti handles it no problem where you'll be pushing the 3060 pretty hard to get there

Appreciate the input - initially was down at a 1300 build using an AMD 6600 but i think going to this side of the budget is better value all round so if this is your experienced suggestion will talk it over with her :)

Any other suggestions / tweaks are welcome.

There are things I can do here to save money but it would be taking a step down in some areas that would affect longevity of the build. I'll see if I can put together a budget option for comparison but it will be at the cost of longevity

The AMD 6600 by the way is firmly a 1080p GPU, it wouldn't offer very good performance at all at 1440p

This build could still handle 1440p 144Hz no problem but I've compromised on the CPU, motherboard and PSU

Thanks Stevey - I know if it was me what I would choose (higher cost one :p) but will run it past her and see her opinion. Appreciate this input and fast responses :)
No problem pal, both systems are very good to be fair and there is probably a middle ground between them. Aiming a little higher on the PSU for example to account for future upgrades or going for a Z690 motherboard over the B660 as well and keeping the 12400F. Little food for thought items with upgrade paths in mind

One last question Stevey. Is the Intel m.2 ssd worth buying at only £8 more I assume? (Assume you went PCS m.2 1tb to get close to 1800?)

1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW

I would, it's a good value upgrade IMO. Even just for the endurance of the drive it's worth it.

That spec is exactly what I would opt for also. The only quality of life improvement would be a faster primary drive, but it would be around £40 for not a great deal of noticeable impact.

Overall I think the £1810 option is right on the money. It's a shame the prices are where they are as that would have typically been a £1500 system pre-covid. It's just how pricing has gone.
