New laptop for general use/light gaming/music recording

Hey all!

I'm looking to get rid of my old uni laptop and my current desktop which takes up too much room and I just don't use all that often anymore and replace them with a new laptop.

I will be using this laptop for general office and day-to-day use as well as some gaming (mainly total war strategy games and football manager with the odd indie game thrown in) and some music recording.

I've thrown together this spec, looks like it should be up to the task for the next few years afaik. My budget is around the £1000 mark but I may be able to stretch that to £1100/1200.

Total War titles are demanding, and only become moreso with each new instalment in the franchise.

Don't buy the Cosmos. A 1050 is absolutely not ideal for gaming at all.

While the 1650 is an option, it's frankly a bit weak for a £1000 laptop.

The older 1060 is more powerful and available in the Recoil chassis:

8gb RAM so as to afford the 1060. But you can add more RAM any time you like, whereas the GPU you're stuck with until you buy a new laptop.
