I was surprised with the prompt delivery: my PC took about 9 days from order to completion. The computer was well packaged; I was able to activate the operating system and install the device drivers in no time. And of course there wasn't the bloatware that is common with some of the other computer brands. My original choice was the Genesis IV, but I changed my mind when I read comments that the Genesis IV chassis was a fingerprint magnet :p

Website & Ordering: 9/10. The website was easy to use. It was good to see how the total cost of the system varied while I added and dropped features. I also received regular emails concerning the status of my order; I was also able to track my system through the Courier's website. Good work.

The Display: 7/10 At a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (15.6'' display) the text was crisp and clear. However, the text was occasionally too small. Increasing the font-size through the Control Panel wasn't very satisfactory. It is something I would probably get used to over time. I think.

The Keyboard: 9/10 The keyboard is top-notch. Very easy and comfortable to type on. However, I felt the indicator for the Caps Lock should have been made more visible. I also felt the lightning for the wireless indicator should have been beneath the button (just like the power and VGA buttons).

The Chassis: 7.5/10 I liked the polished, gray chassis of the Optimus IV. The laptop is biggish though - I would admit a little bit bigger and heavier than I expected. Overall, the laptop feels polished and solid. (I still feel pcspecialist should brand their laptops and get their name out there).

AC Adapter: 4/10 It's probably weird to rate an AC Adapter standalone.. but then, that's because it gave me a big surprise. Does it have to be this big? It was triple the size of my former adapter. I am a bit surprised that with the move towards transformerless power supply, there's any reason for an adapter to be that huge. Maybe I'm being fussy, but it does take a bit more area in the laptop bag. Or am I missing something?

Mouse: 2/10 The touchpad itself is smooth and responsive, however, I am very disappointed with the right and left buttons. They click way too loud which makes them feel cheap. It's a surprise because the keyboard is so crisp and quiet in comparison. My old compaq laptop's touchpad had this dull, quiet sound when I click it which I now miss.

Secondly, the right key is not very responsive and I sometimes have to press it 2 or 3 times for the right-click to work. It is so random, that I don't know whether it is a technical fault or just my fingers. I would use the system for a bit and if it doesn't improve I may have to ship it back for repairs. I am disappointed. (I also noticed the same with the power button, I sometimes have to press it more than once, or a bit harder than I should, to power the system on.)

Pricing: 8/10 When compared with other brands of similar specs pcspecialist is good value for money.

Performance: 8/10 I went with an i7 quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 240GB of SSD harddisk. The system is very fast but since it's customizable it pretty much depends on the features that you mix and match.

Overall: 6.5/10 The touchpad, power button, AC adapter makes me to lower the rating of an otherwise great product. It's sad I may have to be return the laptop for maintenance a bit sooner than I would have wanted which is a big inconvenience.

Does anyone with the Optimus IV have the same issue with the very loud touchpad?
