New owner of a nice PC, but I have a nagging problem, I obviously have Admin rights, but the PC will not let me delete sub folders....

... some webpages suggest I need to be the owner, surely I am the owner. I have given myself full rights as an Administrator using the security tab, but no joy, and the dread blue/yellow triangle remains. All suggestions are welcome.

Is this a PCSpecialist system? Can you post your full specs from the order page?

What do you mean webpages are saying you need to be an owner? Can you take a screenshot?

Aside from the user ID I had to set up to sign in to the computer and access MS Office, there is another ID which appears to be the owner, this is 'Desktop-*******\users'

I have gone in to security for the sign in ID and granted myself Admin rights and given myself full rights for read/write etc and nowt.

What is it exactly that you are trying to achieve? What error messages do you get?

Screenshots would help us understand what you're trying to describe.

Hi

I have given myself on myself the above rights, yet when using the MS account name I am unable to delete any sub folders, keeps saying I do not have the authority.

It will depend on the exact folder you're having trouble with.

Some folders are controlled by Microsoft and the system won't let you delete them at all (even as admin). These are found particularly prevalent where you've enabled (or not disabled) some of the settings in Windows Security to protect system/important files/folders from attack.

But, as others have said, we can't help further without more info...and changing your security settings manually without understanding why & what you're doing, can case more issues than you're trying to fix.
