New PC Consideration

Hey guys,

Just looking to order a new PC today and was hoping for some feedback on a few things and also to make sure I haven't overlooked anything :p

Basically same as usual here, high end gaming on ultra settings, also as always hoping the PC will withstand the test of time for 3 years at least.

Budget was about 900 but tbh I ain't fussy.
If you guys can suggest little upgrades that will cost maybe a little more but give me better performance and last a little longer I am all for it.
If I have spent money where I don't need to I would appreciate that advice too
I chose a i5, I know the AMD is a little better for value but I don't mind paying for quality, unless any AMD will outperform this then I am happy to stick with Intel.
I chose the 1.25GB Nvidia as it seems to be getting raved about but any better ones id listen too.
Lastly I have added a 24'' Monitor, I have a 19'' TFT 1440x900 as it is but would like to show off the display properties. If any other monitor would suit or 19'' TFT I have may even be ok then by all means.

Basically this is a template. I don't mind adding or taking away as long as I am getting a high quality piece of machinery to show off :p

Oh I will not be overclocking or anything.

I would like to keep costs down but like I said I ain't scrimping on costs and losing a year or two or even having to turn down my gfx settings so have at it!

Thanks in advance.

ya spec looks really good,

few little tiny weny things

1.go for a 2tb caviar black drive -alot better than the standard drive.

2. get a 24inch IIyama, They are gorgeous mate, will give you a better picture. The last thing you would want is a class pc, then a sightly lower quality picture than your pc is capable of.

Thanks for the advice, changed those two around. Budget was initially 800-900 got to laugh but couldn't help myself :p

Quick question is the i7 worth the extra £50 odd do you reckon?

we all go over budget :)

if you are using it just for gaming the i5 2500 will give you pretty good cpu performance. The 2600 has hyper threading tech, I cant explain how it works but its beneficial for cpu intensive tasks. But I'm not sure how if it offers anything to gaming, I think the high high end games may take advantage of the hyper threading, but I may be wrong.

If you can afford the 2600, and can justify the need for it why not go for it.
