What I do notice is that when the PC crashes, everything remains powered on but the RGB lights on both the RAM and 4090 change. For the RAM, they both turn a solid colour (rather than going through all the colours set on iCUE) and for the 4090, the RGB flashes orange twice and then goes back to its rainbow RGB. After a minute or so, the PC will restart and I’ll be back on the Lock Screen. All RGB settings back to normal as set in iCUE.

No error messages are displayed. No BSOD.

All stats are fine - temperature etc. I can’t pinpoint any obvious root cause.

I’m not quite sure what can be causing this relatively new issue a few days into having this PC?

The only installs I have on this PC are relating to gaming software, the games, and relevant drivers.

It’s very frustrating and I have logged a ticket with PCS to advise further but I was hoping to hear if anyone has had a similar problem and what they did to resolve it?

TIA
Dan

Could be voltage, have you undervolted at all? If the CPU doesn't have enough voltage it will simply turn the PC off and restart and it happens frequently with normal web browsing because of phase changes (i think this is the correct term). Also not sure about your specific parts but maybe change your ram to 5600hz and see if that helps? I know on some boards 6000hz can be unreliable.

Nope haven’t touch any settings or made any adjustments - I’ve received the PC as is early last week and now it’s randomly crashing.

A couple of things to try first:

- open the case and ensure that no components came loose. If you know how and take care over doing it, pop out the RAM and reinsert (reseat the RAM), along with the GPU as well.

- check for loose connections of leads coming from the PSU and leading to motherboard, RAM etc.

- put the machine back together.

- check your Windows update page and ensure that all updates have been installed including optional updates.

Whilst you say you are not getting any BSODs - follow this thread here and look for any of the files that are mentioned in there - and put together the other files asked for. Upload them and tag in ubuysa (put a @ in front of the name) and they might find time to take a look for any possible issues.

I have tried reseating the RAM etc., as well as checking for loose connections and done all the relevant updates. It’s very weird because first few days of having the PC it was absolutely fine, it’s only the last couple of days where the game crashes have occurred.

I might have to just send this PC back to PCS and see what they can do to repair it. Everything I’m reading and seeing is pointing to a very faulty 4090 - which I find bizarre considering it’s not even a week in use…

What’s leading you to think it’s the gpu?

Mainly from the Reddit threads of people dealing with the same issue plus the fact I’ve tried *so much* from a software perspective and even BIOS tweaks, where everything I’ve done has had no impact whatsoever. I’m still getting black screen into PC restart crashes with the GPU RGB colour movement lagging and then flashing orange like it’s power cycling.

I have questioned PSU - but this is 1000W and was recommended as compatible with the entire build, unless there’s a fault on it that I am not recognising.

Can you post a screenshot of your optional updates page?

What AV are you using?

Do you have Armory Crate installed?

Let's get some hard data. Please upload all the files asked for here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/when-youre-seeking-help-with-a-bsod.71885/#post-568901

Also look in the folder C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports, you'll likely find several sub-folders under there. Upload all dump files (.dmp) that you find in any of those folders.

If you have issues uploading direct to the forum then upload the files to a cloud service with a link to them here (be sure to make them publicly accessible).

Optional Updates page basically just says “There are no optional updates available at this time”. I’ve forced a check for updates, still the same.

AV as in Anti-Virus? Using the default Microsoft Defender. Or AV as in Audio-Visual? Samsung QN90B TV output to SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro headset via the SteelSeries GG Software

I have Armoury Crate Lite Service - no idea what this is, I’ll remove it now via Revo.

So you haven’t still got Norton installed? Did you uninstall it with the official Uninstaller?

Again, with armory crate you have to use the official uninstaller.

Hi @SpyderTracks

Since uninstalling armoury crate, after a reboot, the PC instantly black screens and this is probably the first time it’s done this so quickly. Can you see any correlation with this or is it pure coincidence.

I have set a system restore point prior to uninstall so can always revert back.

Did you use the official uninstaller? Armoury Crate is awful, it invariably causes instability. At this stage, as Norton, Armoury crate etc has been on the system, I would suggest a clean install before proper troubleshooting.

Yeah I used the official one as I caught your reply before using Revo.

Ah a clean install - that was the last option on my list but if needs must… I’ll wait for a response back re my system files, and then go ahead

Did you download a fresh version of the uninstaller, as I had an insurance the other week where it wouldn't uninstall properly till I got an up to date uninstall package, and then I used that while in safe mode, just too make sure

Yes - took me a while to find it on their website but I used the Uninstall Tool directly from ASUS.

PC still crashing without Armoury so unlikely to have been caused by that problem
