Got new pc delivered with ASUS® ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO WIFI (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready. I have the expansion panel and lots of bits in a separate box. Not sure if I need to install them first before I can start using my PC or can I leave them for later when I need to upgrade.

I think, before giving advice, you'll have to post your computer spec sheet, and what's in the box of bits.
Your computer spec sheet will be your order form.
There would be no point in speculating.

Probably didn’t install the expansion card as you’ve only one SSD. And the rest of box looks like cables that aren’t needed for the build. Any leftover parts are provided but you shouldn’t need to use any of them, with exception of WiFi antenna

Thats the spares box. Any spares left over from all the parts are put in a box of spares. Keep hold of them cos you may need them for upgrades in the future

You don't need to do anything with the PC other than remove the packaging and attach the wifi Antenna's, it comes fully built
