New PC not connecting to the internet?

Hello,
Just got mah PC and it won't connect to the internet. I have the ethernet cable plugged into the motherboards ethernet port and no lights are showing up or anything
Is this a fault with the motherboard?

Try reinstalling the motherboard drivers from the disk that came in your welcome pack. Should fix it

Just reinstalled the motherboard drivers and restarted and now it's working fine.
