I haven't checked pricing but I suspect the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X is almost never going to be the best choice versus alternatives (especially more modern ones from AMD themselves)

What is the budget?

What price did the above come to including the monitor?

What are you using the system for? Video editing? What software? other uses? any gaming?

2000 budget to include all peripherals.

System will be used for a mixture of coding, gaming and video editing. Software TBD.

OS will be Linux.

What alternative processor would you suggest within that budget.
