As long as the sockets used are on the main source, not extension leads, they will work fine.

I wouldn't say a big increase in CPU so much as a different CPU that's a lot better suited to streaming e.g. a Ryzen R5 1600. It offers comparable gaming performance but thanks to its 2 extra cores and 8 additional 'threads' it is a lot better for streaming, video encoding, etc.

This is super expensive and its merits don't justify the cost vs spending the cash on just about anything else.

I would suggest a better case instead. Cooling isn't just about the number of fans, but the airflow of the case. The GT1 comes with 2 fans preinstalled, has additional fan mounting points if you do ever need more, does pretty well for managing temps for the price, and would also support more upgrade options in the future.

A GTX 1050 is not a very powerful GPU. A GTX 1060 or RX 570/580 are way more powerful. But upgrading the GPU is a lot less hassle and expensive down the line than upgrading the CPU.

It's almost a shame to buy an R5 1600 with an A320 mobo, given the wider range of features available on a B350 mobo. But again, a budget's a budget I suppose.

I agree with Stephen's comments, but kept the wifi card in to help keep costs comparable to the first build you posted.

Agree about the HDD, a year or so back the WDs were miles ahead but the standard SATA 7200rpm HDDs are very good now, plus he may well want to add an SSD in the future and the HDD would just be a storage drive then.
