Hi, do you want advice?

If so, can you include your Budget & Uses? Can you include your configurable link?

Any reason you've gone for an Intel build as opposed to an AMD build?

It definitely wouldn't be the platform of choice. The X299 is the oldest of the platforms available now. It's, to put it bluntly, way past it and would never be recommended for any uses now.

I can't think of a single use case where AMD wouldn't be suggested now. I think the only place Intel still has a market is on extreme budget options.

Currently I lease a machine which is up for renewal. I am looking at getting the best I can for the budget but this is the first time I have considered doing it this way. I need something that will last me for next 5 years +

Only ever had Intel but am up for options.
I also have an Oculus Rift S for VR games. Current fav game is Elite Dangerous but looking to move on to other games both monitor and VR based

When these guys spec a build they are looking at it lasting 7-10 years with maybe just a couple of GPU upgrades in that time

@Nursemorph Budget would probably stretch to the 32Mb Ram but is it worth it? With the soundcard is it worth upgrading that or sticking with the onboard version, likewise is it worth adding more USB ports - Thanks for your help - I listed some uses in an earlier post if that helps.
