new spec for laptop

hi all,

just brought this laptop, will i be able to run a few games ok'ish, not expecting amazing results, but maybe playing a few first person shooters etc in average detail? many thanks in advance for any comments

The gt 840m is not a gaming gpu, it would struggle or not run many/recent games. You may want to check benchmarks online to have an idea on performance.

If it's not built yet, you could change the CPU to the i7-4710 (which will give much the same performance for most usage) and put the money saved into the 850M or even a different chassis with a better gpu (not sure how possible that is - I'm not familiar with all the pricing).
