New spec; oppinions?

I originally had this build (identical i believe) apart from it was a ryzen 3 3300x rather then an i5-10400f, do you guys think this is better?

I would stick with an AMD CPU, they are miles ahead of Intel at the moment. What are the main uses of the machine, that would help with opinions on it.

mostly gaming with sooome productivity and this cpu is in a similar price range as the 3300x and I have to keep below 1000 pounds. according to benchmarks this cpu runs cooler and faster hence the switch.

well i watched some youtube gaming benchmark videos, where the only differences was the cpus (these two specifically) and a lot of the time the 10400f came out on top so. Also the 10400f is currently in stock whereas the 3300X is not, swaying me further into buying the i5-10400F.

Intel are really reallly poor CPU's these days. Aside from performance, they riddled with security issues, far more expensive and overheat incredibly easily. Plus Intel motherboards and PSU requirements mean that you'll pay a lot more for equivalent performance.

You've likely seen FPS counts at 1080p, which are completely meaningless as the bottleneck on any well designed system will always be the monitor, doesn't matter how many extra FPS you produce as the monitor can only show it's maximum Hz.

Seriously, avoid intel at all costs, they're dreadful CPU's.

id be playing at 1080p 144hz anyway so its not like i want epic 64k gaming lmao. so long as it would run my games well and better then my i7-2600k then im happy. i dont wanna know the best possible things i just wanna know if what ive selected is ok?

As I said, it's not about performance, it's primarily about security.

I'm not going to harp on about it, you can do far better for the price. Intel is really poor, and a really bad choice. I'll leave it at that.

that's too expensive, can't go over 1000 at all, any way u can reduce the 6 pounds without hitting performance?

what if I changed the motherboard to a b-450 instead, that shouldn't affect performance too much right? but brings the price right down
