Only just started it again...but on my Mac...and the cross-play, cross-save feature is not finding any of my saves from the Windows version of the game (both using the same Steam account).
I must say, it performs very well on my Mac Studio on the default 5k @ 60hz (5120x2880), but I've turned it down to 50% resolution (2560x1440) to stick it at 120hz.
There don't seem to be any* the bugs that beset the first couple of months/years of the Windows release...and it looks gorgeous. It's even tempted me to give it another go on the Windows PC.

*some of the plants are floating about 100m above the land...but you can't interact/scan them.
