Hi,

I have a Clevo W370ET and I'm having problems with the built in speakers.

If I restart the laptop for any reason I don't get any sound at all, I have to turn the laptop completely off to have any sound again which is a bit of a pain.

It's on Windows 8 and using Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.6662.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks,

Have contacted PCS and pen drive with BIOS update is on its way.

Brilliant, if you don't get anything by Monday give them a tinkle.

Couple of things to note when doing the update:

1. Make sure your laptop restarts rather than shuts down before you attempt to flash the BIOS, the shutdown is defaulted to act as a hibernation. Gave me a few headaches until I realized what the problem was.
2. Another thing that gave me problems was the boot menu, it has a very short timeout, to give you more time just press the up or down arrow.
3. Finally, take your time with it, it's not a quick process and will require a little patience.

Thanks for all the help.

The pen drive was sent next day delivery and arrived today. Have flashed the BIOS this evening and the sound is working now.

For others having to do this and have never had to do anything similar you have to set the flash drive as the primary boot device and follow the instructions on the included readme file from there.
