So I'm back, as title suggests, still working on a extreme gaming laptop. I would appreciate thoughts on this spec. Budget is £2500, but l understand its best to use some of the budget and save the rest for possibly 3 years later as it is pretty impossible to future proof a Laptop.

Appreciate your comments:sweatdrop:

8GB RAM is probably enough and it is not difficult to add another 8GB later if you feel it is needed, also the standard Kingston RAM is good enough and cheaper. A standard CPU will do as well, not much slower and the k is if you want to overclock, I doubt you would notice the difference.

I would disagree that 8 gig ram is enough, I got 8 gig with my vortex Iv laptop, after a few issues with memory I added another 8 gig and noticed improvements, I don't think 8 is sufficient for gaming, I'd go for 16 to cover your needs, just my opinion, I'm no pc specialist :p

I would drop down to the 4790 in that chassis, you're never going to be able to overclock with laptop cooling, and the extra clock speed will never be used in gaming, plus the extra heat produced will mean youre running close to thresholds which will decrease the life of the build.

Gsync is definitely a great option and the 980m will make good use of it.

What were you using at the time that used more than 8gb ram?
