Well yeah

I will try to make a long story as short as possible.
Ordered a vortex IV for 1350 euros with a belgian keyboard (because i live in belgium :) )

I wait a long time as most people. then my laptop is the 4th working day in testing.
I ask (again) if there is any problem. They said they are out of belgian keyboards and that they tried to contact me. (i have not received any mail or even a note on my order)
They said they could change it to a french azerty keyboard. I asked what the diffrence would be and they told me nothing that i would notice ...

I received the laptop and at first sight it was azerty. (ok)
It had around 10 french words on it. (not so ok)
And while using it i notice half or even more of the ALT combination keys are diffrent from the belgian one. (VERY BAD)
I cant even find the backslash key and i tried them all.

So i contacted live support again. (same person as i had always)
Told him the story he asked what was diffrent etc etc. i told everything.

He told me the belgian keyboards will arrive early november and asked me if i could use the french one untill then.
So i said i would try and asked if i would receive the belgian keyboard early november then.

Nope i would have to pay for the keyboard and for the shipping. (while my original order was with a belgian one)
He did say i could now change it for a UK keyboard. (which would be even more of a diffrence)

He said that i cant get the belgian one because the one i currently have will be "used" by that time.

So yeah thats about it .. i payed 1350 euros and i can't even use my keyboard like i should.
And because it takes a while for PC Specialist to receive them (not my fault) i can not get the replacement.

And that all while i was promised i would not notice any diffrence on the keyboards.

That is very crappy and sad to hear. A suggestion (which although still sucks, ends up with you having the right keyboard) would be to return the laptop to PCS and say you'll wait for the belgian one. Biggest issue there is you would need to wait until november though.

There might be something you can do to 'map out' the belgian keyboard even though its currently set up for a french keyboard?

EDIT: What Smoke has suggested below is the better suggestion :)

What i would suggest is buying a USB keyboard until the Belgium keyboard is available, i know that its not a convenient solution at all but at least it will give you functionality of the laptop.

I would then give PCS another call and explain to them calmly that they said that the Keyboard would be the same a the Belgian one, i take it that its the same letter just everything else is different with regards to secondary button functions.

If your using the USB keyboard then it should keep the existing keyboard in good enough condition to resell.

If you use the technical support section on the bottom left of the main PCS page then you should get better luck with a response, they seem to respond quicker through that and it will be recorded.

Ok thanks very much guys ^^

returning the laptop and wait till november doesnt seem much like an option (i already transferred everything etc and already waited long)
it is already mapped diffrently and i know some keys by heart but not all

i gues using a external keyboard (i have 3 so that should be good :p) would have to do
it will be anoying at times (bed, train, etc) but i gues i dont have much other options

Also thanks for referring to the technical support
I was always wondering if there was a better way to get support because with the live support my problems often dont get solved :/

if i knew i would have to use external keyboard and mouse i better kept using my desktop xD
i just like portability (which will be lowered now :/)

Edit

How do i give you guys rep? i dont see it
Or am i not able to?

Dont worry about rep, we just do it to help out... but its the star on the bottom left of posts ;)

If you have a smart phone you could use a bluetooth keyboard for trains etc i use one called unified remote or something as a remote when im at home, its free on android, if you use iphone i used to use one called Airmouse i think.

Keep us informed though and i hope it all goes well.

Don't think so. They won't be there by now anyway, it's nearly 6 o'clock and they shut at 5.

Ye i know but i was hoping for a chat
So that we can "chat :p" about the problem completly

if you constantly have to send messages and responses it might take a while

Lies!

I know you have spoken to them on the phone, but I would still suggest this as the best way to talk to PCS. That said, an email outlining the whole issue doesn't hurt either, because if nothing else it gives the person on the other end of the phone both some background and something to refer to whilst on the phone to you.

Hope you get everything sorted.

Of course the easiest solution is just to use an Engrish keyboard and join the rest of us in happy QWERTYness :D

Well yes for me it wont be a problem to live with QWERTY
The problem is if i will be used to qwerty i will have trouble using azerty at work or other places

I HATE it that we use AZERTY but we are used to it and we use it so yeah
Also i didnt call them i just used live chat

I have a feeling that calling them from belgium will cost an arm and a leg but i'm not sure

Yeah it most likely will if you just ring. You could try to use Skype or something similar to phone them, its significantly cheaper.
