NVIDIA GTX 470 80c temperature

hi there, i bought a pc here in pcspecialist with a gtx 470 gpu like a year ago. when im playing online games like (league of legends) temperature rising to 80-85c.
and on idle it goes 60c. i just wanted to ask if its normal or not. i tried cleaning it with compressed air to remove the dust, but still the temperature doesn't go down. do i have to reapply the thermal paste?
suggestions/advice please. i appreciate it. thank you!

have you cleaned out the rest of the case? the fans on the card itself will make no difference if there is no airflow throughout the case

hi tom, just normal room temperature. even i'm not using my room heater or leave my windows open, i still got the same temp of gpu.
since my pc freezed 5 times already while playing games, i'm just getting worried about it. :c

clean out the case fans and see how that goes, someone else may know but there is a way of increasing fan speed via the motherboard without a fan controller

what case do you have? and do you have any free fan slots, if you can afford them (and tom willback me up on this) get the Akasa viper/apache fans, theese are the best and you can choose depending on the colour, they are available on amazon and other sites although some preffer the safety of using amazon

hmmm, can ya post ya up spec mate, includin case please

hmmm a few things may help, is ya gpu fully up to date? all drivers updated? windows up dates on? fully up dated?

anti virus scan? maybe not the cause of the high gpu temps, but may cause the cpu to work harder, which in turn would create a hotter case.

you mentioned about the thermal paste on the gpu, i wouldn't take it apart to check, ya dont wanna void the warranty.

post up ya spec icn case, an any fans ya have?

i have COOLERMASTER CM690 MKII ADVANCED CASE i think i have free slot, im not 100 % sure.. well if i have, ill be following your'e suggestion. :)

lol i think your case has about 5 slots free, so definitely make the most of these spaces, these fans are much more expensive than others so id suggest maybe getting a couple of those and then a couple of cheap ones

that case as pretty good cooling, if ya can, post up a few pics? lol we are demanding i know.

edit - agree with wozza, them fans mega good, but dont order anything just yet :)

yes i did update everything u mentioned, and a virus scan and seems like nothing changed.

what that's good everything is up to date,

is the case in a well ventilated area? With pretty of space for the pc to breathe (yes it breathes :) )

wozza, i havent scan it yet, ill try to download it now. is the free trial any good? or i have to purchase it

the free trial is great, there is actually very little benefit to the full version, you get the same virus definitions as the full version

Do you have any pics of inside the case? is there anything blocking any airflow inside the case? ie spare psu cables or anything?

What fans are installed in the case? just front and rear? any top or side?

just tried malwarebytes, found 39 infected, i deleted them all and still i got the same temp.

hi tom, will take a picture tom and post it. i think nothing really is blocking the airflow. cables were tidy.
i got front ,back and the one in the middle.

so shall i buy good extra fan for it? i dont really mind buying one
