My pc has started crashing recently (every couple of days or so). It freezes and the screen goes like a badly tuned tv. Im assuming its a gpu problem, and pretty sure it only started happening after the latest driver update.

Anyone else having any problems with 296.1?

Gonna role it back in a minute as soon as I kick my kid off the pc : )

thats 600 series only, its still 296.10 for 500s thats what i have, im not having a problem, try rolling back the drivers to the previous version and see how it goes

So, far so good.
It was one of those intermittent annoying problems though so not sure how long to to give it until I decide its fixed the problem.
Annoyingly I'd just bought an Arctic heatsink and fans for the card, and now I'm a bit reluctant to fit it (thats got to be a warranty void-er, lol)

Not planning to overclock it (well not yet anyway). They run fairly hot, google says it normal, but does mean the fans work overtime, and they're noisy as hell!!! Hoping to drop the temp a few degrees and get things a bit quieter

Yes, if you overclock the GPU the warranty becomes void on it
