Sorry if this has been posted hundreds of times or in the wrong section.

I am looking to build a pc and im stuck on which graphics cards to use, i know the AMD 6000 series is decent for gaming, but is there a similar type of series with the nvidia cards, at the moment its a toss up between the:

AMD 6450 or the nvidia g force gt 430

any feed back would be apreciated

If you post what else you have in your spec, I'm sure various forum members will be able to advise on the spec as a whole.

It'd also help if you included the main things you'll be using it for (presumably some gaming since you mentioned it, but it'll be useful to know if this is correct) and a vague budget.

the amd and nvidia cards are good but since they are both low end then you cant really go wrong with either. if you have use for Cuda technology from the nvidia gpu then go for nvidia but if not then the amd is fine to stick with :).

Cooling OK, drive OK. Weak point is the graphics - might want to up it a little. You might need a higher PSU depending on which you pick.

Any suggestions? Im looking for one that can handle Shogun 2 or STALKER, not really bothered about maxing out, just so it can run smoothly. Would the 1GB Nvidia Gforce GTS 450 be sufficient? Or will i have to go into the GTX 400 or 500 series?

To be honest most dedicated graphics will run them - just on low settings and occasional dodgy frame rates.

Thanks for the advice, i dont really have a budget as i have 4.5k burning a hole in my wallet, but realistically about £700-£900 would be my ideal price range as i am a more of a casual gamer
