Hey guys,

further to the extremely helpful responses on this thread about PCIe 3.0 vs 2.0 (http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forum...compatible-motherboard-geforce-660ti-ASUS-m-b), I wanted to get your expert opinions on the nVidia PhysX phenomenon, and whether or not you consider it to be "worth it".

If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out this video for Borderlands 2, which utilises PhysX: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/363627/borderlands-2-pc-video-demos-flashy-physx-effects/#

Now, I was looking at a 660ti, but I was wondering if others had a recommendation of which cards might best perform with PhysX for this purpose? Because, to be honest, I've no idea what the market is offering today!

Many thanks,
A.

I like the idea I think Physix is cool but it doesn't really affect game in a drastic way. It adds subtly little visual improvement that off you didn't know would be there otherwise you'd be none the wiser. Arkham city for example it added fog. Mirrors Edge it added banners that waved about. Its the kind of improvement you'd only notice if you had the two comparisons running side by side.

Saying that it is something I'd like to run as that video does look stunning but as an ATI GPU owner I have to run physics through I have to run Physics through my CPU and I think its quite a heavy burden on it. I think its a nice touch though

It does look nice but its not used in that many games as far as i know

I think the differences are actually more noticeable on mobile games, these differences are noticeable on Tegra HD games compared to standard mobile games, especially dead trigger  it looks better than consoles
