nvlddmkm error

Hey

I have been getting this error (shows on log) recently, my pc gets artefacts on desktop and chrome and other stuff will crash (bf4, procon etc), I have tried a few things from google search, like change power setting, free some space on my ssd (main drive) as it was full, uninstall spybot, cleaned inside of case, removed gpu and cleaned fans etc!

Some people have mentioned it could be directx, faulty gpu or ram or psu, I don't really know what to do next to find out and solve the problem, can anyone advise and point me in the right direction please, my pc was bought from pcspecialist just over 2 years ago, thanks

Make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Even if they are it would be worth reinstalling them.

Thanks ubuysa, I have several times, I downloaded ddu and was gonna do a clean install and see if that helps (I already removed all driver updates manually from folder then installed that was also)

I'd advise you to stay well clear of driver update tools (I assume that's what ddu is?) IMO you have no idea where any drivers they find have come from nor whether they're even the right ones for your hardware. The only place I ever obtain drivers is from the computer manufacturer (PCS have drivers for your build under you account on the main website) or from the individual hardware manufacturer.

A clean install is an excellent idea, but do ensure you only use drivers from a trusted source.

K, thanks for that, ddu is a driver uninstaller, it locates all and then removes them, but if u reckon it's best to not mess around with it I will do it myself, it was only because I saw that the drivers were stored in more than 1 place and wanted to remove them all
