So I finally got my Octane and let me tell you it has so far been perfect and right as I was expecting/hoping it to be. Am very pleased with the machine and the flawless, professional service from PC Specialist.

I am going to attach the specs and some photos.

Pros: everything works perfectly as described and as expected so no need to elaborate. I just wanted to point out that even the rgb keyboard is better than I'd expected it to be after reading some reviews and having watched the famous review video on youtube before buying the Octane. To my surprise, and contrary to those reviews, the keyboard light is bright enough on setting 4 (brightest) in the control centre, and works perfectly. It has a very nice and comfortable feel to it. No heating issues. Booting is a breeeeeze!

Cons: the only annoying one so far is the finger recognition which hardly ever works. the thick besel around the display is a bit uhm thick! But this machine is not about looks or lightness...it's a heavy pig!

I wanted to ask someone to point out how to buy additional parts from PC Specialist online without having to buy another PC? I cannot seem to find out how through their website.

Kind Regards

If you go into your main PCS account there will be two sections, one for upgrades and for spare parts. Upgrades are things like SSDs, spare parts are things like batteries, chargers, keyboards.

Assuming you bought the laptop directly from the PCS website. If you bought it from a reseller like ebuyer then you would need to register the laptop with PCS before you can buy the bits.

And thanks for posting comments on the machine and ofc the pics! :)

Did you also get problem with the trackpad like I did?

My trackpad is very "jittering". I seem to not be able to control it properly and sometimes the mouse doesn't click on where it as clicked. It just moves around sometimes and it's pretty annoying. Not sure if they have any drivers for track pad?

My Octane VI came already with all the drivers installed but this must be a hardware problem?

Alcro, I had a problem with two-finger gestures not working but i solved it quickly. I uninstalled the drivers AND checked the box where it says to delete the driver software from the device, rebooted and ran windows update.

Step 1: Open Device Manager. Expand Mice and other pointing devices to see your touchpad’s entry.

Step 2: Right-click on the touchpad entry and then click Uninstall device option.

Step 3: When you get the following prompt, select Delete the driver software for this device option and then click Uninstall button to uninstall the touchpad driver.

Reboot your PC.

Step 4: Download the latest version of the touchpad driver from your PC manufacturer’s website and then install the same.

Thank you for your advice man! I will do the same because I also have problem to use two-finger gesture (does not work at all on mine either). Hopefully both the jittering problem and 2-finger-thing problem will disappear! :)
