Yes, pretty damn high requirements, I guess the 900 series cards have a few new abilities that are maybe required for the rift.

I'm actually surprised you can get the 'full experience' with a 970. It doesn't seem likely that you could do 2160×1200 at 90Hz for games third partied into VR like GTA, with a 970. Perhaps they mean 'full experience' to mean things like video and walkthroughs of real places, and if that is the case then indeed high requirements for gaming.
