one key on laptop keyboard broken

I have an Ultranote II laptop and one of the two lugs on the cap of the D key that attach it to the clip has broken meaning the key cap gets dislodged very easily. There are a couple of internet sites I've found that advertise they sell replacement keys, but I can't figure out what brand the keyboard I have is to see if they have what I need.

Can anyone here help?

I can't use the pcspecialist upgrades thing as the laptop was bought for me by my father, and he lost the account details when he moved house about 18 months ago.

you should still be able to get in touch and get a replacement keyboard. My left shift key came off days after getting it they shipped me a new keyboard for free and I installed it myself

This laptop is out of warranty, and I'm not in a position to spend £17 including delivery (the price they quoted) to replace a single key cap.

Ah sorry I couldn't handle the key being broken especially with it being left shift. Warranty is worth the extra money

The extended warranty was indeed good value for money - it covered the replacement costs for a broken hinge that broke a section of circuit board. However even the extended warranty has now run out. And even if it hadn't I still wouldn't need a whole new keyboard - all the keys work fine it's just that the cap of the D gets knocked off very easily.

I can't tell you what model it is. Have you emailed/phoned PC Specialist to ask?

Also when you say your father lost the account details for the PCS Account he ordered the PC from, as long as he still uses the same email address he should be able to reset the password: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forgot/

I've emailed PC Specialist but just got a quote for a replacement keyboard with no detail of model. I replied to that clarifying my question but haven't had a response - I hadn't thought to try phoning.

My father doesn't use the same email address as it was bought through his company which has now been wound up after he retired.
