I'm a dummy when it comes to modern PC components.
I want a new PC to do some HD video editing from my Panasonic stills/video camera plus my old video 8 stuff. I'm told the on board graphics will do the job fine. Are there any glaring mistakes. thanks

the onboard graphics will do fine :) if the programs your using support cuda then you could op for a low end gpu to boost the process in the editing but if not the onboard graphics is fine.

The whole spec looks good. what is the budget you're working on? nothing much to change unless your comfortable to get the i5 2500 to get better performence.

Excuse my ignorance but what is Cuda and how does it affect video editing.
I have a copy of Power Director 8 with the option to update it to 9 64 bit. Does that programme involve cuda? I can't find any reference to it in the blurb.
Thanks in anticipation.
