Before you comment, yes I know 16gb is ram is overkill. Going for the 2006k processor and 1600Mhz ram because I will be doing some light overclocking and going SLI GTX 560 Ti because they are good cards! Also I am to assume that I would get two copies of Arkham City since I am in effect buying two cards?

Well, there it is. If you have anything to share I will take it on board and thanks in advance for any help!

I want it,! I ordered one with one 560Ti and 8gb of RAM

but, they will both perform the same, I'd only have more than 2gb of memory on my graphics cards or across both cards if I was going to game across dual monitors.

if you don't then it won't make any difference, check this out.

but, if you're getting it for the future then fair enough as you'll need all this eventually but right now 4gb of memory on graphics cards is not needed, at all.

You won't get 4Gb of graphics memory anyway. It will still be only 2GB. You are right with the fact that you wont use anything like 2GB of graphics memory if you intend to game on 1 monitor.

Trying to futureproof graphics by going for dual cards right now (in my opinion of course) isn't such a brilliant idea. I always think its best to buy the single best card you can afford now, that way you can slot the 2nd in when you need to in the future when prices will be alot less. You also have next gen cards coming out in the next few months, which should drop the price of current cards atleast a little. By having two 560ti's now you might be limiting yourself in the future, not future proofing as you intend.

Same with the RAM. It's so easy to slot in at a later date if/when you need it. 8GB is more than plenty for gaming for a good while yet as 4GB is plenty at the moment for most games, so i would wager it will be a long time before 8GB+ is needed for gaming.

No idea if you would get 2 free copys of the game... I would say you won't as you can only install and play one version.

it's not a physical copy that you get, it's a download code

Thank you very much for the help. I changed the two GTX 560 Ti to One GTX 580 3GB, and I upped my PSU after noticing it would need around 1050watts to run the 580s in SLI, and its a modular PSU so should lead to better airflow in the case, Win/Win all round really. Also after much deliberations I went down to 8gb of ram.

Again very much appreciate all the help, and extremely sorry about the double thread post, very embarrassing.

Now the waiting game begins!

like someone said earlier, there is no need for the 3gb 580, the 1.5gb will be more than enough

Yes go for the 1.5Gb version unless you have any plans to do some sort of tripple monitor setup with a stupidly high resolution, or have £40 that you have no other use for in your system but has to be spent....
