Opinions on my order?

Should I request a swap to 3070Ti? I noticed the Ti not being that much more than the base 3070.. (£8 more)

- 3070 Standard -
£2,326.00 inc. VAT

- 3070 Ti -
£2,334.00 inc. VAT

- 3080 Standard -
£2,481.00 inc. VAT

-- 3070 ASUS TUF -
£2,317.00 inc. VAT

- 3070 ASUS STRIX -
£2,389.00 inc. VAT

- 3070 Ti STRIX -
£2,571.00 inc. VAT

ASUS TUF is cheaper than the Zotac/Palit but is it better?

I’ve just posted but then immediately deleted it as I wasn’t paying attention and missed an important detail…

If you’ve got a G9 incoming, you really need the 3080 upwards to drive it for gaming. Don’t make the swap downwards 👍

For the extra £8, go for it! The TUF is definitely not worth it as it’s offering very similar performance for a difference of around £90.
Noted! So just the base 3070 Ti? Don't go with a Strix?

the system is £1,552.00 inc. VAT without the GPU making the 3070Ti £782 (idk how close that is to retail) and £1019 for STRIX.

Hey bud. Unfortunately Currys cancelled my G9 order due to a "pricing error" (and Quidco declined cashback). I'm now looking at a 1440p 27" (x2)

LG 27GL850-B

I tried to pick one up Prime Day but it seems the G9 was limited and wasn't that price both days only a short period :(

Sorry to hear the bad news about the G9, that’s devastating 👎

I take it you’ll only be gaming on one monitor and using the other for browsing/streaming purposes, is that right?

If so, my original statement that I scrubbed out is now relevant again 🤪

Yeah, it did sound a bit good to be true £200 off a G9 and £50 cashback! I was looking at the G7 I dunno if that's just as good (I prefer no larger than 27")

Yes, that's correct gaming on the single display other monitor got twitch chat, Spotify, OBS open etc and get a 3rd later-on.

I also read this: Samsung Unveils Its Expanded 2021 Odyssey Gaming Monitor Lineup not sure if i should wait for these models [G30A/G50A]? Unknown date (and price).

The LG is technically a better monitor than the Samsung and offers an IPS panel as opposed to VA. But we’ve all got a soft spot for the G5 here, it’s like an old friend 😁

I guess it depends how long you’re willing to wait. By the time the new Samsung screens come out LG might be teasing their new models and then you’ll find yourself wondering if you should wait for them. It’s a vicious circle… as is this:

Ha! I totally agree I waited from the 2000 series GPU for the 3000 series, then the AMD CPUs waiting it will never end if you always want the "best of the best"

I think I'll just get the LG monitor and the base 3070 Ti model. Although the asus TUF 3070 is the cheapest of them all.

PC: £1,552.00 inc. VAT

PC + 3070: £2,326.00 inc. VAT
PC + 3070Ti: £2,334.00 inc. VAT - £8 more.
PC + 3070 (ASUS TUF): £2,317.00 inc. VAT - £17 cheaper.
PC + 3070 (ASUS ROG STRIX): £2,389.00 inc. VAT - £72 more.
PC + 3070Ti (ASUS ROG STRIX): £2,571.00 inc. VAT - £182 more
PC + 3080: £2,481.00 inc. VAT. - £90 cheaper

Godlike
The GL850 can be had for £299 at the moment which is a great deal for a 1440p IPS display.
Of the GPUs listed for £25 more than the 3070 TUF the 3070ti would also be what I would recommend. My suggestions are based on value at the time and at that price the 3070ti would be what I opt for. It’s crazy how the 3070 keeps dipping up and down. I ordered a week ago and I checked on the amend order function; the 3070 is about £110 more at the moment.

At least the LG27GL850-B is available at a good price right now, £299. I'd also say the Dell S2721DGF is available at £319. That's the same panel as the LG but some reviewers think it's slightly better.

Edit: crossed with @MrWilson

27GN850 vs 27GL850? same price. Ideally 1440p, non-curved, 1ms max £350.

Compared(?)

From productchart.co.uk/monitors.

LG Electronics 27GN850 27 - £299
Acer Nitro VG270UPbmiipx 27 - £299
Pixio PX277 Prime 27 inch 165Hz 144Hz IPS - £299

Any advice on any of these?

"The LG 27GN850-B is a slight improvement over its predecessor, the LG 27GL850-B. The 27GN850-B displays wider SDR and HDR color gamuts, meaning it's a better choice for content creators. It also has a quicker response time at its max refresh rate, making it a slightly better choice for gaming. However, the 27GL850-B gets brighter and has better reflection handling, so it's a good choice for well-lit rooms. It also has two USB inputs, which the 27GN850-B doesn't have, so you can easily charge your devices while working." from rthings

PS: For Ryzen 5900X 12 core is £112 more than 5800X 8-core - worth? It says I can change it. I removed the Capture Card as I got this on Amazon price-drop (172.83) only £25 saving but with a £800 3070 GPU!
