Just wanted to see what people thought of the below. Mainly play CS:GO/Dota 2 - Yes i know this build is overkill for those two but also want to run newer games especially the new MW. My current PC is ancient anyway and wanted to splash a little bit :) Yes i know I dont need that much power in the power supply by the way.

What's your max budget? What did the above come to?

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

You say "mainly" those 2 games, but what else? Any streaming or anything?

What's the reason for the soundcard?

Overall, it's not very balanced and you can do a lot better for the same or less money.

Max budget 2K - Current monitor is the ASUS vg248qe 144hz 1920x1080.

Don't stream but would be nice if it's a possibility. GTA occasionally and mainly prep for later releases and I move away from Xbox etc.

No reason for the soundcard tbh

Happy to see a reconfigure if you don't mind :D

Really, your monitor is holding the system back, would be worthwhile investing in a 1440p 144hz monitor for that kind of budget.

But if you want to stick with the current monitor, then something like this would be much more suitable.

What would you alter from that spec if I added the MSI Optix Mag271 to the order? Had the ASUS the same time as my current PC so wouldnt be against changing the monitor also.

I'm a huge fan of the MSI screens, they give some incredible specs for the money....
Within the 2k budget, you could squeeze all the above with an RTX2070 which would be a really sweet pairing with that monitor:

If you were looking at the monitor as part of the 2k budget, you could just about do it.

The MSI Optix MAG271CQR is currently out of stock on PCS, but you could order elsewhere where you can get it a bit cheaper anyway:

I’m assuming the above there doesn’t include the monitor? Was just going to do it through PCS just for the convenience.

ive noticed through the other threads you’re a fan of that Ryzen 7, got something against Intel? ;)

Intel are stuck on 14nm, and because of that, their only solution is to add more cores to the point where cooling becomes an issue and leads to having to buy much more expensive cooling solutions and cases to keep them running normally. Plus, they’re overly expensive for very little extra performance gain over the AMD competition. Then on top of that, Intel have had to role out OS and microcode mitigation’s first serious security flaws that further lowers performance and they refuse to address it in any new chips. They have hampered innovation for years by just releasing iterative updates because there wasn’t any serious competition.

Now that AMD are flying past them at a rate of knots, and their next gen CPU’s will undoubtedly smash intel to take the performance crown, I see absolutely no reason to give money to a company that has operated so abysmally to their loyal customer base for years on end.

For gaming, the 3600x is very widely regarded as the ultimate chip for price vs performance. For multi core, the R9 3900x already smashes the 9900k and we’ve still got the 3950x about to hit the market which will leave intel in the dust.

Thank you for your advice, I’m going to take advantage of the get now pay in 12 deal PCS do so I can enjoy it for a year before it hurts my wallet. Thankfully by then my bonus from my job will come in handy and won’t need to worry about the interest!

I’ll probably order this tomorrow, it’s good to get a talking through from someone who knows their stuff :)

That’s good, you may get some further advice on tweaks before ordering to maximise the build.

Why the x570 mobo?

This would be my preference

Changed

Cheaper case, still adequate
Cheaper mobo, still adequate
Better GPU, didnt quite grasp If your upgrading your monitor or not though?
If your not in the very near future, drop the gpu down if you want.
No WiFi card
Smaller M.2 storage as imo just keep your OS and any 1 or 2 of your favourite games on there if need be.

With the excess cash saved on this one, make any tweaks you need like wifi or increased or faster storage. Can pick up a 2TB SSD instead of the seagate HDD Ic you wish or use the money for premium peripherals for example, never underspend on peripherals imo, made that mistake as spending well on peripherals makes gaming alot more enjoyable and comfortable.

I am upgrading the monitor so will be updated to 1440p MSI

Ideally want to prepare myself for later releases and use this tower for a while

AMD have stated next gen ryzen will be supported on the b450 boards btw, you can go for an x570 but you wont need to update much except your gpu for approx 5 years unless your requirements change.

Obviously this can change, but judging by the past experiences and what I've seen online, most people stick with a PC for approx 5 years before wanting to upgrade. You can obviously never guarantee the rate at which hardware develops and the changing demands of games are going to be, but theres nothing too disrupting out there at the moment.

Final edit: if you fixed on getting a better board, then perhaps a x470 would be the choice, it offers improved vrms in comparison to the b450 but obviously no PCI-e 4.0 support, so it still seems like a bit of a waste of cash to me. Experts anticipate no affordable pci-e 4.0 usage will be utilised for atleast a few years, so to me it's either a B450 or X570 if you have a high budget.

What about the magma RTX super? Similar kind of spec but has an RTX 2070 Super.

Also slightly better CPU (also bundles extra game), faster SSD, better CPU cooler. Has the X570 Plus mobo, which of the X570s is probably the one I'd pick anyway. The price has a discount and is set at £1599

The "HARDWARELUXX HIGH" is also worth a look:

Or the Inferno R2 which is a similar kind of spec to Spydertracks' but £200 cheaper:

These are all 'special offers' where the spec is fixed but the price is discounted.

My jaw genuinely dropped at that, it's almost a 180 quid saving against the configurator and out of curiosity I wanted to compare vs pcpartpicker and it's almost exactly the same price o.0 it's a steal (the 1599.99 magma rtx super).

Where do you find these Oussebon, I search the pre selected builds and cant find most of the ones you link on the forum?

Seems to get missed a lot. I guess people see "Reviews" on the PCS home page (bar at the top) and assume it's just a list of testimonials or something. Instead of a list of fixed spec discount deals, that have also been reviewed by hardware/entertainment magazines online.
