uh to be honest around 1.5k but can stretch to 2k, i wanted at least a i7 9700k and ofc a nice gpu i was going to go for the 2070 super but i thought might aswell go with 2080 super and make sure i hit at least 60 fps on every game.

This is a good guide- https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/desktop-building-guide-may-2020.67892/

I would advise against going for an Intel build, just isnt worth it, AMD is faster, more powerful and cheaper.

Can you include the url at the bottom of your page so that the guys can go in and tweak.

What computer do you want then? Desktop or Laptop? The monitor is 1440p which is good info, do you know the refresh rate (in Hz) or the model number?

Hey grumpy, i heard intel has better peformance over AMD For gaming and desktop use, plus I’m more familiar with intels processors over AMD. I also just like having the name of intel tbh lol. Ill provide the link and ofc if you have a better choice of components let me know. And i would like a pc as i have a usable laptop at the moment for sixth form, and the monitor refresh rate is 144hz the only reason I’d replace is because I don’t like the quality of the screen the colours look off, however I might need just need to adjust settings.

The new AMD CPUs are way ahead of Intel in all departments, speed, security and thermals being important areas. Intel are stuck on an old architecture and do not look like changing too soon.

Do you mind altering the Components for me or telling me which cpu to change to, I’m guessing im staying with the gpu, I’m not too familiar with amds naming, all I know is the ryzen 7 3700x is the equivalent to the 9700k

I just had a look at the ryzen 7 3800xt and it runs at 4.7 ghz however the i7 can turbo up to 5 ghz am i missing something? If anybody woukdnt mind could they give me A alternate build within a similar style case

Yes theoretically the Intel chips can boost to that speed, but they don't stay there. Intel's suffer from overheating, therefore the chips will thermo throttle back down, but even then your cooler is working its plums off trying to cope.

What titles are you wanting to play?

I understand to be honest i think ill end up with a ryzen 7 3700x, the 3800x seems a bit like going to a i9 which is unecessary. And yes i was thinking about waiting however the new cards will be very expensive wont they? I guess i could wait but I’m not sure as they might just be very expensive and above my budget. Also will PCS have them in stock and available the day they Come out, i think its the 7th sept however I’m quite impatient lol. What do you think?

Also do you mind giving me a same setup but convert it all to amd or is literally just the motherboard and cpu that needs changing?

No, same price as current cards. Plus they'll be substantially more powerful, so what you'd pay for the 2080ti now at £1200 would get you the 3080 at roughly £800 for more performance. So they're actually a lot cheaper.

3900x is the i9 competitor, 3800x is just over a 10700k.

It is most likely a TN screen, so the colours will be off. Adjusting colour settings may help a little, but you would want a IPS panel if the colour accuracy and quality are important to you. That does add to the price tag though.

As for Intel/AMD...Intel are a poor choice for pretty much anything but overclocked competitive gaming. So 1080p 240Hz type proper competition gaming. AMD is a no brainer at the moment for 99% of builds.
If youve placed an order with Intel, it will mean cancelling and putting in again to change to AMD as they are on different config setups.

Going by your previous build, £2K budget, you have a 1440p 144Hz monitor and you say you have the keyboard/mouse etc.
So you would be aiming at something like this:

Ok so basicaly wait till the new gpu comes out, how long will I have to wait? Also do you recommend the 3700x or 3800x? I think the 3700x is better value.
