Perhaps you should consider a laptop that has easily removable / swappable battery.

Perhaps I should yeah, been looking at some more branded laptops that seem good. Although I am worried that it's a Huawei, purely due to all the security scared surrounding them.

Putting in a bigger battery actually seems like a good choice for me, the only thing is, it's rather expensive and given my experience, it could go very wrong. Decided to return it, and since I won't need one until next year, I'm going to use that time to make a better choice, given that I now have a good use case.

I have the same laptop and sourced and replaced the battery with a 62whr version. You need to run it for sometime to recalibrate the battery as it initially got the capacity wrong and turned off with no warning.
