I'm running windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my laptop, and for some weeks now have had an intermittant issue with the sound not working through inbuilt speakers. The windows configuration is all set correctly, with the other sound devices disabled etc. I am not changing the configuration at all, but sometimes there is no sound coming from the speakers, despite windows sending sound to them. I can use the inbuilt test option in the sound properties (windows and realtek) and see there is output to speakers etc, but nothing is heard. Often the issue seems to fix itself rather wierdly, I click around the various speaker test options, disable sound device and re-enable it, and all off a sudden the sound is working again. I have the Realtek HD Audio manager installed, driver v6.0.1.6301.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? I originally thought it must be software driver/ config issue, but I am begining to think this might be a hardware issue?
