Optimus IV 17.3" Stolen :(

Hi guys,

I think I already know the answer to this, but my Optimus laptop was stolen during a burglary.

I gave the police the serial number, but is there anything else I can do? :( My mind is a complete mess right now so I can't think what else to maybe try. Any suggestions?

I'm annoyed I hadn't installed remote software installed on it, but I hadn't had it long (less than 30 days) and suffice to say I hadn't fully set everything up before it was taken.

Only thing I can think of is checking your contents insurance (if you have any) the Laptop may be covered under that - as you've already got a police serial number it would be a good idea to inform them of the loss in case you are going to make a claim.
 
Oh dear :( I feel terribly sorry for you. I've got my laptop stolen once and I know you will feel so terrible, so invaded. I hope you have content insurance as it should cover your laptop. Use your invoice and police serial to make a claim.

We will void the warranty of this laptop and make a note on our system so that if anybody calls up regarding this we can try and obtain their details and pass them onto the police...

Once your are paid out from your insurance we will give you a free priority order on a new laptop so that you can get back to normal as quickly as possible :)

Thank you for the response. I have a crime reference number if that helps for your records?

I have replacement contents insurance, but as yet I'm not sure how they will handle this. I've been told to make sure I have the spec details to hand when they call me. Ideally, they would organise an identical spec from the original source (pcspecialist), as opposed to finding an equivalent spec laptop elsewhere. I've never done this before so I'm not familiar with the process, but clearly I'm only interested in obtaining another Optimus 17" from you.

Out of interest, will the free priority order be in the form of a code to use upon checkout?
