Optimus IV white screen..

Last night I turned my laptop on and straight away was greeted with a white screen, laptop seems to still boot as I could hear the sounds. Turned the laptop upsidedown, took the battery out and back in tried again and it worked. This afternoon however it did it again and nothings getting it working again. Having it plugged in through HDMI into a tv works and I can use the laptop (as I am doing now). Any ideas what I could do to get it working again? Ive booked repair for it (and my overheating hard drive port) but Id like the screen to work just for until its off for repair.

Looks like there is something wrong with the laptop screen itself and could need replaced,in which case there's not much you can do about for now.
