Optimus Pro XI RTX 2060 driver problem

Just reporting in that i also have this issue.

I have an optimus XI pro with an AMD 4800H and RTX 2060.
The Nvidia driver installer does not detect the GPU. It appears in device manager just fine.
I will hold off on trying the above fix for now but just thought i would give a heads up. Tried driver 452.06 (released Aug 17)

I wonder does TongFang need to contact nvidia to get the hardware IDs included? This was never an issue o my old Vortex IV.

how to know if we have good or out of date drivers tho? checking on windows update, geforce experience and "device manager" in control panel is not enough?

All drivers will be incompatible without editing them, that's the point.
sorry i dont really get the point, you mean that you are forced to check on official website of nvidia, intel etc. for drivers because windows update, geforce experience and stuff are not enough?
what's mean " All drivers will be incompatible without editing them"?

Any GPU driver will be incompatible, you’ll have to edit it. The GPU driver has to have an entry for the licensed chassis on which it’s installing to. That’s not in there for this model as the manufacturer hasn’t registered it with nvidia, or nvidia have forgotten to add it.

So no gpu driver will install without editing the installation .inf

I also have this problem. I solved it with the guide posted by MATO200 but that's not a solution that we can use forever because because now it works, but the procedure could change at any moment. I really hope that with the next update the problem will be solved.

Had a look around and it looks like this should be resolved in the next nvidia driver update scheduled for Sept 18th. Fingers crossed.
Where did you find this information? Fingers crossed

This refers to the latest core series of laptops from a competitor which uses the same chassis as the PCS optimus series (The optimus Pro XI with 4800H and 2060 is the TongFang GK7NR0R).

so hopefully its sorted by then.

same problem with my brand new optimus XI received at the end of July. The rtx 2060 has been disabled since the windows update 2004. I'm waiting for good news from PC specialist support or from nvidia but nothing.
Terribly disappointed with my purchase.
Not even a tong fang support or website to find a driver.
I don't understand why a PC specialist preinstalled an older version of Windows 10 without warning of any problems with the 2004 update.
Pc specialist team, have you any news from tong fang?
thanks for the tutorial, but the procedure for disabling the signature is way too complicated for me.

Wait how do you mean disabled?
I have updated to 2004 myself and my 2060 is working fine. The driver is old but it works.
My Nvidia driver is 442.94 (the driver that came preinstalled).
Is your 2060 just flat out not working now?

Hi thanks Guuma and Neumie for your help and your replies.
I meant automatically "disable" in device manager by windows to prevent from a BSD crash.
to be mor specific, I tried to install in priority 442.80 from support driver ( my motherboard is a GK5NR0O). after a reboot I've got a bsd crash after 1mn, and and other one after 2nd reboot. At the 3rd time windows disables the rtx 2060 with a "!" in the device manager, but the system remain stable.
So i tried to unistall with DDU and install several versions ( 442.94, 451.67 that Guuma sent me in the link, 442.59,442.74, 451.67, and the last 452.06) and I always got more or less same result, BSD crash or RTX disabled automatically after reboot.
I'm torn with two choices, format everything and reinstall windows 10 before update 2004 ( but if windows update automitacally, it will make crash everything again), or reinstall directly the last version of windows , because I read that the installation of 2004 from windows update is not clean at all and can be the issue.
I keep you informed. Sorry but I can't wait 3 weeks more for new drivers, I need my cg for work.
thanks

That is perfectly true. Upgrading via Windows Update should work for everyone but for some it causes all sorts of niggly problems.

Download the latest version of Windows 10 (2004) via the Media Creation Tool to a USB stick. Boot that USB stick and clean install from there.
