Optimus V 13" NEEDS AND FN LOCK KEY

Really disappointed that the BIOS doesn't support the 'Action Keys Mode' offered in other laptops which means if I wanted to use any of the macro keys (sound/brightness up/down) I have to press the FN button, which is really REALLY awkward and not very good design at all. It would be fine if the laptop had an 'FN Lock' but it doesn't have that either so I've had to BUY a 3rd party app 'HotKey Control' to override this so I can turn the sound and brightness up/down with just 1 button. Honestly it's pathetic for an £800 'Specialist' laptop.

I'm also really annoyed that I asked for an operating system not to be installed so I could install it with a hard drive partition. I chose not to partition the disk during the ordering process as I would liked to do it myself. When I got the laptop it already had windows installed without a partition, so now I have to uninstall it all and reinstall it the way I wanted, which is a massive inconvenience and really would have preferred if PC Specialist didn't lie to me or at the very least tell me that they were going to pre-install it so I could have let them do the partition. But no, I loose on both counts. I wasn't informed that they were going to pre-install an OS and with this and the macro function keys issue I feel really let down.

The last really negative thing is the basic speakers are quite below par and the next choice up was too big a price jump. If you have the money I urge you not to get the bog standard speakers.

Everything else is worth the money, the design looks good and the cooling is better than I anticipated. I just wish the macro key situation was explained but that's the risk of online shopping unfortunately someone had told me what to expect before I ordered mine.

P.S. Whoever decided to put the 'Sleep' macro key IN BETWEEN the 'Sound Up/Down' and 'Mute' macro key has some serious explaining to do. There's been so many times I've accidentally put my computer to sleep when I want to turn the volume down. I really hope the person that designed that doesn't have a job any more.
