Optimus V - Windows 8.1 - USB issues

Hi,

I seem to be having an issue with my USB ports, both 2.0 and 3.0 versions.

I keep getting the USB device not recognised, but usb mice and keyboard work fine through them. My Galaxy s4 was in a continuous loop of connecting and disconnecting. The same happens with an Apple iPad and also the Galaxy S3.

I know it 100% worked fine at one point with Windows 8 but im 99% sure that after the 8.1 upgrade things havent worked properly.

When i bought the Optimus V 5 months ago i dont believe there were windows 8 drivers available, i may be wrong however!

Im currently backing up my machine with my USB hard drive connected to the router and transferring my data that way through the network. Not fun with 60GB virtual machines copying over

Any suggestions for a fix before i reinstall windows?? I may also need help locating the correct drivers, the clevo site FTP doesnt point to a valid location when i try and download new versions.

My Optimus V clevo model is - Clevo W350STQ

Any help really appreciated, i'd like to resolve this myself before i pester the pcspecialist support guys :tt2:

I have the same problem with my Optimus, all i done was try another USB lead for my phone (HTC One) and it connected fine. Maybe you have a dodgy USB lead also?

Worth a try :)

@ Rosman,
I'm having exactly the same problems with the USB ports on my Optimus V 17. I'm considering trying the same thing (full re-installation), please let me know if it solves the USB issue, or any other things you've tried. Mice and wireless xbox 360 adapter work as well as external 2.5" HDDs but my nexus 7 and generic MT65xx android phone are unable to connect.
