I'm contemplating between the Recoil III and the Optimus X (possibly the Vortex) does anyone know if there is any more information/reviews such as any heat problems. or what the Clevo model is (possibly NH70EDQ)?

I think the model number would depend on the GPU. It would be something like NH70RxQ where the "x" changes in relation to the GPU selected.

It's not exactly a review but you can find some users opinions here. The model PCS is stocking at the moment has the newer processor and does not seem to support 144hz display but otherwise everything looks the same.
The Vortex is reviewed in this video. Again, the model PCS is stocking has the newer processor but everything else looks the same.
Both the Recoil and the Vortex seem to have higher refresh screens options(144hz) whereas the Optimus is limited at 60hz. The Vortex is the only one of the 3 that supports g-sync.
What will you be using the laptop for?
