OptimusII case strength + delivery to Jersey (VAT?)

Hi sorry to make this my first post but have a few questions.

Anyone know how strong the optimusII chassis is? Reason I ask is the hinges on my MSI have gone 3 times which is a bit of a pain.

Also living in Jersey it has VAT off. Does this get taken off on the pcspecialist side (aria did this for me for the MSI) or will I have to claim it back in Jersey? I'm aware I'll have to pay the GST (5% I think it is) at Jersey customs when it does arrive.

While I'm at it, anything look wrong with this base build?

The build looks very solid indeed, and to the best of my knowledge we've never had a laptop back for broken hinges.

I recommend buying a seagate momentus drive (near SSD performance for much cheaper than SSD costs) if you are not going to have an SSD.

i have the same setup minus an intel SSD (120GB). very quick and very nice

i've only had it a few hours but it doesn't seem weak at all. no creaks/flex or any indication that i have anything to worry about

I have just ordered almost the exact same laptop also to Jersey, I'll let you know how I get on with GST etc.

I can also confirm the purchase is VAT exempt, but I'm a little worried about delivery times as I'm on 10 days pre-production already

At any rate I'm going back to uni in a week so production time isn't that big a factor, can survive by borrowing flatmates. Will have to get it sent up, not sure how anal UK customs will be about a new looking laptop coming through customs.
