I am just wondering how pc specialist is coping throughout the GPU shortages of the RTX 3080 and if they are getting some stock because I am really excited about moving from a laptop to a PC. I also know that an ETA might be tough to give but I appreciate any help.
Thank you :)

A lot of pages so I'd restrict myself to the last 5-10 pages...hopefully that gives some idea
I guess that I am going to have to wait a month or two then 0_o that's such a shame

I would strongly recommend getting some advice on your build, there are a few things leaping out that will throttle performance and possibly lead to reduced lifespan on the build you have currently configured.

AMD cpu better matched with that GPU, 5800x would be ideal. Drop the thermal paste to standard as the better coolers etc have their own pre installed and you don't want them scraping that off. If you stick with Intel K series and want to consider OC (which is why you would get a K series) then you need a better CPU cooler. That is a single fan AIO and wont cut it.

Will probably have to cancel my order for the and cpu then thank you for the help

Was going to use this as a second monitor then upgrade to a 240Hz 4K some time just tight on the money side. Also swapped out the i7 10700K with the standard 10700 because wasn’t planning on overclocking and using standard thermal paste now

There’s no such thing as 240hz 4k

If you’re looking at 4k 144hz are you aware it’s around £1000 for a monitor?

Many games now on ultra setting won’t even run at 144fps with an RTX 3070 or lower anyways my decision is an RTX 3080 as I have done my research and looked into benchmarks

Trying to afford you as much respect as possible..... But..... If your opening post ordered PC is the result of your research, I'd be trying to come to the realisation your research is not worth a great deal.

Yeah if your getting a 4k monitor would advice just sticking with 4k 144hz barely anything runs at about 144hz maybe csgo and valorent

4k 144hz will be exspensive enough without 240hz that you will prob never see until after the lifespan of the monitor

Just want good frames is that too much to ask? I will be getting a 240Hz monitor soon after I get the pc

If you want good frames a 3060 would be perfectly fine to say the least, assuming you want good frames for competitive gaming at 1080p. Most people cant notice the difference between 144hz to 240hz anyways.
