out of stock - waiting time

hi just got a email off pcs telling me that they have ran out of 750 caviar black hds so waiting on stock before they continue building, anyone know how long this usually takes to get hold of new stock? thanks

edit: i rang pcs and they told me they were expecting new stock to come in around the 4th, so i upgraded to a 1tb cav black instead

Pcs seem to be having a few 'out of stock' products lately. My laptop was sent back for repair last week and today and i am told the motherboard (which is faulty) is out of stock and expecting stock in 3-5 working days. When it was built only 2 weeks ago there was a delay because the chassis was out of stock.

It's known as JIT, Just In Time delivery. Companies like PCS probably don't want to tie up a lot of money and space on stock waiting for orders so will likely maintain a low stock based on forecast orders and rely on fast delivery from their suppliers. Sometimes you get caught out is all.
