Overclocking Monitors

Anyone have any experience overclocking monitors? I have a 1440p 75hz monitor and my new pcs system has just arrived and for a lot of games is capable of delivering more than 75fps even at high settings.

Is it something a lot of people do or is the benefit outweighed by the risk? I realise it will void the warranty.

You can't overvlock any monitor, it has to have that option in the on screen display.

It can be done via Nvidia Control Centre, however the gains are usually small.

I have an old ASUS PB27Q as a second monitor (1440p 60hz) and have it clocked to 85Hz. My 144hz monitor cannot even clock to 145hz so mileage may vary.

A quick goolge will show you how to do it

Some monitors have over clocking built in to the on screen menu. My Asus Aq series over clocks from 144hz to 170hz. I can't pretend to know much about it, but I've left mine set at 160hz.
