Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice on a PC I'm planning to buy within the next week or so. I've never owned one myself so I don't really know much but have done a little research and managed to build something. I'd like to be able to play every modern game on Ultra and I also want the PC to be powerful enough for me to run 3DS Max. I don't particularly plan on rendering on this PC but it would be nice if it could. Budget is £1000.

Anything I should look to change?

Hi,
What sort of games are you looking to play? Does 3ds max benefit from hyperthreading?

Games such as Minecraft, Arma 2, Battlefield 3, GTA IV and GTA V when it comes out.
Also I have no idea what hyper threading is so I couldn't answer that for you. I assume it has something to do with the processor though, I chose an i7 purely because that's what the PC's in my college have.

Sorry for the double post but my first post seems to have disappeared so give a quick summary.

I'd like a PC that can play pretty much any current game on Ultra settings and I'd like to run 3DS max smoothly and be able to render well. The quieter the Pc is, the better but I can put up with some noise. Budget is £1000.

Okay thanks.
Do you think the 2 extra fans will be enough to keep the PC at a decent temperature whilst gaming?

If you want better cooling I'd consider a different case, with silent cases you may experience slightly higher temps than a regular case. I think you can only add up to 2 fans in your case.

Okay mate, thanks for the help. Much appreciated!

I don't think you specifically need a micro-ATX motherboard? You could take a full-size one, which would have more room for expansion and be a pound or so cheaper.
