PC build for CPU intensive games- any changes?

Greetings,

I am looking for a build that would perform decently for the next 5 years.

Most of the time I will be playing:
Survival: Minecraft with shaders and 7 Days to Die
Simulators: Cities Skylines
RTS: Company of Heroes 2-3, Starcraft II
I might eventually play a modern game that's GPU intensive, but I don't wanna commit to that as I'd like to stay below the budget of £1700.

Do you see any bottlenecks? Am I neglecting something important? Thanks in advance :)

It will be paired with this monitor:
Dell U2719D
2560X1440
60Hz

Can you supply the configuration link so we can tweak this for you< also what monitor do you have, resolution & refresh rate or make and model, the big error that jumps out is the case, no way would i put a 5800x in that

Thanks for all the responses! I compiled the answers below and updated the original post with it.

Do you think I can improve the mobo and the cooling with an extra £100 on the budget?

Slightly over the budget with the extra £100 but that would be the minimum cooling for a 5800x cpu I would recommend

Do you have a old system with windows on you could transfer to your new pc this would save you some money ?

Will you be using a wifi connection to the internet or Ethernet

Thanks for the tweak Jamie!
Unfortunately I don't have a spare Windows to transfer so I will need the license. I do, however, have an external hard drive where I keep all my media, so maybe we could remove the 2TB HDD instead? I usually don't go with that much storage built-in since my external drive goes around a few different laptops around me :). Also, I have cloud storage for some media so I don't need to keep that much locally.

Also, I noticed you switched the RAM from 3600 to 3200, is this because of the mobo compatibility or due to a possible marginal gain between the that 3600 to the 3200 you chose?

Regarding the connection, ideally I would use ethernet but I would like to have WiFi just in case. I will be moving houses soon so I might get a few surprises.

With your suggestion and the above in mind, I tweaked to the following, removing the 2TB drive and bumping the RAM back to 3600.
My logic is that it will be easier to add more storage later than to replace the RAM, and the build price changed by just -£9.

What do you think? Please feel free to slap my wrist :p

Ideally the 500 gb m.2 for the os drive would be the faster of the 2 but because of the special offer on intel 1tb its hard to recommend another 500gb m.2 thats not overly going to add more cost to the build
500GB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3200MB/W) would be a contender

There’s virtually no difference in performance in gaming between the two frequencies of RAM due to the CAS latency, and there’s been ongoing issues with four matched sticks of the 3600MHz.

With that in mind, for your uses you’ll never need more than 32GB so I reckon you’d be best off starting with 2x8GB 3200MHz. Cities Skylines is the only game that might need 32GB, and that would be if it was heavily modded. RAM is the easiest thing you can upgrade/add in, you can bolster the rest of the build with a little adjustment.

If we shuffle it around, you can have an ultra fast Gen 4 Firecuda as your OS drive, a higher quality cooler which will be quieter and better at coping with the thermal output of the CPU, and a higher rated PSU that will accommodate upgrades over the years. There’s also the improved WiFi card which operates across two bands and has built in Bluetooth connectivity 👍

Epic, thanks for the suggestions guys!

Regarding the issues with 3600 ram sticks, if I decide to upgrade later as you said, should it be all right if I get 4x 4GB of the 3200, or it will be better to get 2x16 instead? I am quite keen on the 32gb because I might decide to play with some server clusters and stuff at some point since I am a coder :)

And nice one with the wireless card with Bluetooth, I have a few Bluetooth components I usually use but completely forgot about that! And my WiFi router is dual-band, so that will fit like a glove.
