I have just bought and the received the PCS Vanquish Enforcer PC.

But I am having a major problem playing any games, such as Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2.

The pc crashes about a minute into the game with a BSOD.

I am not sure if it is the overclocked CPU, GPU or Memory causing the problem.

I have tried a clean OS install and reinstalled all drivers again but to no avail.

I have sent an email to PCS for their advice.

Hey, would you be able to post your specs? Makes it a little easier to talk about your equipment.

As you say, the BSOD ....0124 is a hardware error.

Might be worth re-seating your graphics cards as it could be something as simple as that.

Is your GPU/RAM overclocked too? Or just the CPU?

Can you try to run some benchmark type programs (3DMark for example) see if the problem occurs then. It might be your hardware is faulty, could also be worth running something like superpi too which will check if its the CPU thats causing the issue or not. You can also run memtest to check your ram (might need to leave it running overnight as it does take a while).

Thanks for the suggestions steaky360.

Tried 3Mark successfully and scored 8874.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/1340155

Ran SuperPI tests successfully - 32M (7m 25s)

Will try running memtest overnight. Do you know where I can download the correct version of memtest for Windows 8 64-bit please?

Just found out that memtest86 is a dos program that runs at boot, so the OS version is not relevant.

I have just kicked it off to run overnight.

Ran memtest overnight - 4 passes and 0 errors.

So I think it is now looking like a nvida driver issue with certain games as I was able to play Burnout Paradise with no crashes. I have tried v320.49 and upgraded to v327.23 with no joy.

So I may try the v331.40 Beta version tonight after I have finished work.

Spoke to PCSpecialist Support and they advised the following change in the BIOS:

Turbo Ratio: By All Cores
By All Cores: 44

to

Turbo Ratio: By All Cores
By All Cores: 42

So far no BSOD whilst playing games. So hopefully this has resolved the issue.
