PC Crashing during games

Hey guys,

I just recieved my newly built gaming PC last week from PCS, and I've been having problems with my PC crashing during games. Firstly, I had an overheating problem, which I self-managed by moving the second graphics card of the SLI configuration down one slot, to increase heat flow. After this, every time I open a game and play for a bit, it will crash 10 minutes later :( The game will freeze, and when i turn off my computer, it takes around 10 seconds to start off again. GPU temperatures on both graphics cards do not exceed 80-81c, even when playing high demand games. I did a stress test, and the results were fine, so I'm not sure what's causing this problem, especially since this desktop is a beast.

Thanks guys in advance for any helpful responses!

I'd agree with Keynes and suggest you try the latest drivers from Nvidia and carry out a clean install.

Thank you both so much, it seems to be working now smoothly :D If any problems persist in the future, i'll make sure to ask you guys for help! (haha)

I thought it was initially working, only to realise that SLI was disabled after the clean install. When I enabled it, the same problems occured. Could it be the power unit, and that if I'm not getting enough power, or maybe my second graphics card is too close to the power unit?

If you remove one of the two cards from the case and then run through the programs / games you're using. Then swap them around. It'll help to identify if its one card specifically or potentially even the SLi Bridge.

Its possible it could be a power issue, but the configurator is pretty good at estimating your power requirements so its reasonably unlikely I think.

Okay I'll definitely try that and report back, thank you for the help again, I hope I can solve this because it's getting annoying haha

When I replace each one individually, it works perfectly. So it might be the SLI bridge that is the problem, or power input, since on the page while I was building it said the maximum power voltage could each 912 watts, so not sure

Normally the configurator would prompt you if you try to order a PSU that isn't strong enough for your system.

I've just built your system on the configurator [As Below] and got the following message;

PCS Configurator said:
We've checked your specification for compatibility. Please consider our advice below before proceeding:

1.We notice that you have selected a 850W power supply, but based on our calculations we recommend you change your selection to a 1000W power supply because your computer could require up to 892W of power including a 20% allowance.

I appreciate that's not 100% the same, but I suspect its similar enough to show an issue.

Did you get this message also when you made your rig? I would recommend you get in touch with PCS today about this issue.
