What are you using them with and which generation Xbox controller are you using?

Are you using the supplied usb cable or a 3rd party one?

What are the specs that you're connecting it to, ie the PC/laptop?

For it to read the PS4 controller you'd need to have Steam open or DS4 driver installed:

Depending which generation xbox controller it is that should have native drivers in windows.

I can imagine some PS4 teething problems but I'm amazed you're having trouble with the XB controller tbh.

@SpyderTracks @Scott I literally bought a new ps4 controller and another official Ps4 USB cable, they both did not work, also tried several cables for both controllers, i was surprised myself the xbox one s controller did not connect via wire. I have DS4 Windows installed but it does not make a difference it only works with bluetooth. I am connecting it to a PC

Unfortunately I have no experience with DS4 other than it working for me. This is not a PCS issue, I am (we all will be) more than willing to help, but I doubt you will find an answer here.

Is there a DS4 forum maybe? Where users have similar issues? or do you think this is a PCS system problem?

Thank you for the support, I promise you i have checked every forum i can even reddit, this is a very weird problem and anyone i have come across online with this problem has not had a solution, i honestly think it is a PC system problem because the xbox one s controller does not even get detected by the PC, both controllers just get charged thats about it.

With that being the case there is only 2 things I can think of....

1 - The software only supports USB2.0. If you plug into a USB3.0 or 3.1/3.2... it may not recognise the path.
2 - The drive isn't installed correctly.

Knowing DS4 and various software that I've used personally. It's normally one of the above. It's not a hardware or PCS issue though, IMO.... so nothing we can directly help/support other than advise.

Have you tried them in the motherboard ports?

@Scott I think i only have usb 3.0 slots. sorry im not that good with tech but driver not being installed correctly can you expand on that?
Regardless of using DS4 or any other software, normally when a PS4 controller is detected the still white light comes on whereas this literally doesnt detect or anything but charge the controller

I’m guessing it’s something with the way ds4 is on the system.

Try uninstalling ds4 then try rebooting and try the Microsoft controller again?

Above is the best starting point IMO too. If you take away DS4 you default to the Windows drivers which is Microsoft, without interference.
