Hai, like most people who visit this website, I am looking for a good quality PC that can play cool games. After playing around with some of the configurations I have come to decide on what I want (specificity what you see below this paragraph). Please provide me with feedback on this as I have never ordered a custom PC before. Just so you know I mainly intend to play valve games (+ minecraft) whilst recording them with FRAPS or something to that nature. That's some serious multitasking you have in mind for it. You might benefit from an i7 (hyperthread capability) and more memory too. It's all going to cost money. Also, the silver warranty is a steal.

Hi mate,

Couple of things.

CPU: the I7 will make a reasonable difference to Video Editing, its one of the few things that actually benefit from Hyperthreading. If you can afford the cash get the i7-3770.

As Yrubdarb says get the silver warrenty its only a £5 and will save you cash should need to return the rig outside of the initial month period.

If you plan to game i would look to get something better than the 550ti to be honest if you want to play at HD res (1920x1080) with decent frame rates, which you should considering the speed of your CPU you want a 560/570 minimum. Again though it all comes down to cash.

Hope this helps.

As said above, an i7 would benefit video editing; however, if this comes second to gaming, I wouldn't bother depending on your willingness to spend the extra cash. Games do not benefit from the hyperthreading of an i7, so if your list of priorities has gaming at number 1 and video editing only a distant 2nd or 3rd, why bother? You won't be utterly crippled in an i7's absence after all. 16GB of memory would be an additional pro in a similar category to the i7, in that its unnecessary for games, yet beneficial for the kind of multitasking your describing.

I would look into upgrading the GPU, as the 550 ti is unlikely to offer you high settings at exceptional frame rates. Still, you could check out http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/ to compare different GPU's benchmarks to suit your desired performance.

Unfortunately, upgrading the GPU to something like the 570 will likely force you to increase the size of your PSU, so factor that into your decision.
