PC for some general use but mainly for video editing.

I am trying to put together a PC that will cope easily with video editing for personal use. I have lots of old home movies that I intend to capture and edit together as an Adam Curtis style film. I want a system that will not miss a beat and will be easy to use as my computer knowledge is limited. I have received some advice from a friend and this spec is the result of that. I just would like to run it by you guys and see what you think. The only thing I'm not entirely sure about is the graphics card. I intend to have two monitors and I think this card will support that.

Any suggestions welcome. Cheers.

If you video editing software benefits from CUDA you might fancy a GTX 750 ti instead. What's your budget?

Will be using Adobe Premiere Elements 14 as I already own it. Budget including VAT is about 1,000 to 1,100 could stretch a little more if needed.

There might be some merit in doing so. An overclocked Haswell-E build, which PCS can pre-overclock for you, would give significantly better multithreaded performance. As far as I know, Premiere Elements doesn't take advantage of GPU acceleration so it's all down to the CPU.

But obviously that's quite a bit more expensive as you're paying for better components that support overclocking (cooler, PSU, etc) plus Haswell-E is generally more expensive these days I think. If this is well beyond what you're comfortable spending, the i7 6700k is certainly not a bad CPU for video editing at home. You might consider some quality of life improvements like an SSD, WD Black HDD, and the AOC i2369vm monitor which has an IPS panel and gives pretty decent colours https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-i2369vm/

Its response time doesn't seem much different from the one you picked, at a glance.

Thanks for that. Do you think that should have sufficient cooling for the overclocked CPU?
